How does it work?

We give you free 1-year insurance with the purchase of every e-bike.

Once you make your purchase you will be redirected to our partner Allianz in order to complete the insurance process.

The insurance will be activated from the day you get your bike.

 

All questions and issues related to the policy should be addressed to and resolved directly with AWP and are out of Econic One's jurisdiction.

Do I have to pay for something?

No, the insurance is included in the price of every e-bike.

Can I get insurance for a non-smart e-bike?

Yes, all bikes bought online come with 1-year insurance included in the price.

What is theft?

The insurance covers any kind of theft, burglary or robbery.
Here are the quick definitions:

 

  • - Theft

Theft occurs when your e-bike is simply stolen by a third party.

 

  • - Burglary

Burglary is theft that has occurred after an illegal entry in your property.

 

  • - Robbery

Robbery occurs when the property is taken away in a forceful or intimidating manner.

What is bicycle road assistance?

If your e-bike is no longer roadworthy as a result of a breakdown or an accident you will get assistance at the place of the event or transport (including rescue) to a nearby, suitable bicycle repair shop.

 

  • - Simple breakdown assistance: to enable you to continue your journey

 

  • - Return transport of the e-bike as well as the e-bike user (if necessary another accompanying person) to the starting point of the day trip, the destination or to a specialist service partner. The costs of the transport are paid up to EUR 200.

Where am I covered?

The insurance coverage is valid in Austria, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Netherlands, Greece, Bulgaria and Romania.

What is not covered?

Wear and damage caused by natural use of the e-bike (scratches, blemishes, etc).

Damage and theft of accessories that are not permanently connected to the vehicle and had not been integrated by the manufacturer.

Losing or leaving the insured e-bike or the insured parts.

Changes to the device / device manipulation: removal, bypassing, deactivating or changing / manipulating the insured device (e.g.removal of the assistance speed limitation).

Manufacturing defects covered by the warranty.

What are my obligations?

You must claim the damage immediately after becoming known to you.
In the event of theft, you must report it to the police within 24 hours.
You must take precautions against theft such as to store your bike safely and always lock it when parked in public areas.

What kind of information would I have to provide when making a claim?

When making a claim you are asked to provide the following information:

 Proof of purchase, serial identification number of your e-bike and insurance information.

Description of the course of the damage and the damage to the device.
In the event of accidental damage: a photo of the damage.
In the event of theft: a police report and the original invoice for the insured e-bike.
